New design…

No, not for me, silly! I have changed the design of the blog. I know, I know, it was long overdue. But doesn’t it look much neater? Wasn’t it worth the wait? I couldn’t have done it myself, obviously. The lovely Bobbi, of Ready To Blog, patiently listened to me and helped me. She got what I wanted instantly. She made the whole process painless, and I just had to sit back and relax. I wish I had contacted her earlier!

I also wish I could do the same for myself. You see, I was so against cosmetic surgery a few years ago. Well, now, I am a lot less judgmental. It must have something to do with age. And if so many people are doing Botox, well, it must be good, right? And I am starting to worry about a little brown mark on my cheek (probably an age mark…). Surely it can be lasered off ? I need to talk to someone about it. Ah, the joy of growing older!

That said, growing older also brings its share of good surprises. There are lots of new exciting developments to come, and I wanted to thank you all for your support and your patience. Nothing would have been possible without all my readers. Let’s just say that you will soon be able to read me in a national newspaper. Can you believe it? It will be featured in January, and a photographer will come on Wednesday to ‘style’ me (what am I getting myself into?) and take some pictures…Watch this space! I feel really privileged to be able to do this. Thanks again to all of you. All your kind words are much appreciated!

On a different note, I am still shattered, I have huge bags under my eyes and I don’t feel very yummy at all. But hey, French or not, you can’t have everything, right?

Muriel – A French Yummy Mummy In London
  • I love it!!! Don’t go under the knife though. See you Tuesday! xxx

    • I wish I were as talented as you, Deborah…a redesign was long overdue!

  • I do like it – looks great!

    • Thank you Thom -a little bit of housekeeping can’t hurt, right?

  • Hey Muriel! Looks fab. Just met a girl who said I look ten years younger! Reminds me of what i told you so please dont change urself!!! 🙂

    • I wish I looked 10 years younger. Sigh. 15 all over again!!!

  • I got a lovely surprise the other day when I landed on your blog. I like the new look. I found the older version a bit hard to navigate or rather I found it easy to miss your posts. As to cosmetic surgery and Botox – I am 100% against it and have a desire to grow old gracefully. But yes, everyone else is doing it…I may change my mind eventually. I mean, I have to dye my hair every 6 weeks, so anything could happen.

    • Janine, I was just like you. I haven’t dyed my hair just yet. The thing is, I don’t feel old. Why would I look old?

  • Love it, Muriel, the sleek look suits your blog! As to other cuts … seems the age marks will come back again after a short time, Botox wears off but where does it go to?

    • So what do we do know? Don’t we fight against age, even if it is a battle we are sure to lose, isn’t it worth it?

  • Very stylish, if a little stark, the new look. Easy to load and read though which are the essential bits aren’t they?!

Apparently you can treat brownish marks naturally:

    • It is a old easier to load, which I like. As for the markes, I don’t know what to do…

  • How exciting! I look forward to seeing you in the paper. I think that kind of potential exposure would make me start thinking about botox too. I’m still not into cosmetic surgery though. Even top stars, who can afford the very best, are not a patch on themselves when young. They seem rather pathetic to me, I imagine them looking at themselves hopefully believing that there isn’t really much difference…. Perhaps they are at least glad that they look better than other people of their age though :).

    • It is tough call. I am very low-maintenance. I don’t dye my hair, I don’t do Botox, I don’t whiten my teeth…that said, I think that I need to up my maintenance regime a bit…

  • Very beautiful and stylish. Oh, the blog, too!

  • Can’t say I aprove of cosmetic surgery, Botox, etc, but everyone to their own..

    • Well, Caro, I am not getting any younger…I will have to up my maintenance regime…at some point!

  • Yes, I like the neat, modern look; makes it so much easier to read and navigate! Well done! As for the ‘spots’ I’m sure you just need a reliable foundation and concealer. I don’t think you need botox or surgery.

    • What would we do without concealer & foundation ? I sometimes wonder…

  • Changes are fun and your streamlined look is very elegant! I think Tammie is wanting to give us an overhaul next year. Fun, fun, fun…

    • Really? I can’t wait to see what you will come up with!

  • The site looks wonderful! I had my eyes done at 48 – best money I ever spent!!

  • I like the sleek design of the blog! If only it was as easy to redesign ourselves as we get older (without surgery)! Looking forward to seeing your article – very exciting!

    • I still can’t believe I am going to be in a national newspaper. As for us, well, we just have a age gracefully, I suppose. Easier said than done!

  • Great new look and new adventure for 2014!
