What a stonking start of the week! Thank you for all the messages and nominations. I must admit that I wasn’t expecting such a reaction, but clearly the #BackToUniCampain stroke a chord! The site just crashed…

So here it is: thanks to @Sendit_Now, someone will receive a care package with all the essentials to survive uni! How cool is this?

For some funny reasons,  only girls were nominated. No boys this time. And what we have chosen for your precious friends/daughters/sister/nieces/whatever will keep them going for a long, long time. Here is the list:

Student cookery books

Set of essential student kitchenware

Reed Diffuser

Just Eat or Dominos vouchers

Plug multi adapter

For Freshers Flu

First Aid Kit

Hot Water Bottle

Rail travel vouchers

Dry Shampoo GIFT SET

Photo frame

Laundry bag

Cinema vouchers

I am really pleased with this choice. Because, as one my Twitter friend said (thank you Julia!), it is more original than money. And it’s for girls who rock. As in, badass girls. What I am trying to say is that they could be French! And I have always loved badass girls.

But let’s talk numbers here. I have received 16 nominations. Most didn’t explain why they had nominated someone, but three really touched me, because I could feel the love/admiration.

The winner is Katie. The nomination came from her sister, Gracie. I absolutely loved the way she described her. Here we go:

” I nominate my sister Katie who works tirelessly for her personal development at the same time as being a pillar of her academic community in her role as student officer (and raising a child, and being a bad ass tractor-driving female farmer, and… Did I mention she’s amazing?)”

Here are the two other nominations that caught my eyes:

  • one from Amy, who nominated her fab babysitter Natalie who has just started college,
  • and one for Liina, who nominated her niece, “who left her home country at the age of 18 to study in the UK.”

You see, I love girls who take risks, who travel and life life to the full (yes, on a tractor!). So well done girls and congrats to Katie!
